Gold BUY Signal — $4424 Setup for 20 Aug 2026
Gold is surging but don't chase the high. Here is our low-risk buy setup for 20 August 2026.
What a wild ride we are seeing in the gold market today. As I write this on 20 August 2026, the price is sitting at $4488.80, up a massive $55.90 since yesterday. If you are watching the jewellery rates in Pakistan or Dubai today, you will know that local prices are spiking fast too. Let us look at how we can trade this safely.
How Yesterday's Signal Went
Let us be completely honest about yesterday. We set up a buy order at $4345.00, but the market was simply too eager to climb. The lowest price gold touched after our signal was $4413.80. This means our entry price was never reached.Even though the price later soared all the way to $4583.80 and hit all three of our targets, we did not make any money. That is just how trading goes sometimes. We did not lose anything either, which is always a win in my book. Our official verdict is that the signal never triggered.
Today's Trade Setup
Here is what I am looking at for today's trade:Why This Setup
Gold is incredibly strong right now, but buying at the very top is a bad idea. We want to wait for a correction. A correction is a temporary drop in price before the main trend continues. We are looking to buy near a key support level. Support is a price floor where buyers usually step in to stop the price from falling further. This support zone is between $4424.00 and $4414.00. If the price dips back to this area, it gives us a highly safe entry point. If the buyers step in there as expected, we should see a quick bounce back up toward $4470.00 and beyond.
What Could Go Wrong
No trade is 100% safe. If the price falls below our support level and breaks past $4386.00, our trade is invalid. This means the sellers have taken control, and we must get out quickly. A break below this level means gold could drop much further, so we let our stop loss do its job.Bottom Line
Wait for the price to pull back to $4424.00 before you buy. Do not chase the current high price. If it never drops to our entry level, we simply sit on our hands and wait for tomorrow.Written by XAUUSDTips Team. Not financial advice. Trade at your own risk.
