Gold SELL Signal — $4180 Setup for 05 Oct 2026
After a tough loss yesterday, we are looking to catch a short opportunity as gold approaches a key resistance level near $4180.00.
Hey there, hope you are doing well today. Gold has been making some massive moves, climbing all the way to $4166.60. That is a thirty-two dollar jump from yesterday. If you are keeping an eye on local gold jewellery rates in Mumbai or Lahore, you already know this sudden spike is making things quite expensive. But is this rise here to stay, or is it just a temporary bounce before another fall? Let us look at what the charts are telling us.
How Yesterday's Signal Went
Let us be completely honest with each other. Yesterday's sell trade was a total failure. We wanted to sell gold at $4135.00 with a tight stop loss at $4150.00. Instead of going down, the market shot straight up, hitting our stop loss and going as high as $4198.90.This means we took a loss of sixty-three dollars and ninety cents per trade size. It hurts to lose, but we have to own it. In this business, keeping your losses small is how you survive to trade another day. We do not hide our bad days here. We learn from them and move forward.
Today's Trade Setup
Why This Setup
Even with today's sharp jump, gold is still technically moving in a short-term downtrend. Think of a downtrend like a bouncing ball going down a flight of stairs. It steps up briefly, but the overall direction is still down. We want to sell gold near $4,180.00 because that area acts as a strong resistance. Resistance is simply a price ceiling where sellers usually wait to push the market back down.If our entry gets triggered, we expect the price to fall back toward $4,155.00. This level is close to a support. Support is like a floor holding the price up. If the sellers manage to break through this floor, the next stop will likely be around $4,110.00.
What Could Go Wrong
No trade setup is ever perfect. If gold gets a sudden boost of positive news, such as changes in interest rates or tensions in the Middle East, the price could easily shoot past our entry and blow right through our stop loss at $4,198.00. If the price closes above $4,198.00 on the H4 chart, this trade idea is completely invalid.Bottom Line
Be patient today. Do not jump in too early. Wait for the price to pull back up to $4,180.00 before you place your sell order. If the market drops without reaching our entry, we simply skip the trade.Written by XAUUSDTips Team. Not financial advice. Trade at your own risk.
